The Cultural Program consists of various projects established
by the Committee which, to date, have been primarily for cultural
presentation and historical documentation.
One project was the production of a film which highlighted
the accomplishments of Syrian Lebanese Americans who had immigrated
to the Southern portion of the United States. The film reflected
that their contributions had an important impact on the development
of the South. Another project was the production of a slide-film
documenting the Birth Of The Federation with special recognition
to those individuals and clubs who played a major role in its
establishment in the 1920's and 1930's.
The Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C., and the Barker
Center located at the University of Texas at Austin, have been
designated to preserve the archival materials belonging to the
Syrian Lebanese Americans. This project should facilitate the
development of an appropriate exhibit of historical for use
by the Foundation and Federation.
